Overview: Mom and Dad met while both attending the University of Virginia, and eventually settled down in Chicago, where they have lived for the past 8 years. They loved Chicago, but when Dad was offered a new job in Nashville, they decided to pack up the family and move South for a new adventure.
Mom is a Nurse Practitioner who put her career on hold while her kiddos were young, but has now returned to work full time, in a fully remote position. Dad is a Healthcare Investor whose job involves long hours and travel. When not working Dad likes to exercise, and get in a round of golf when he can, and Mom enjoys yoga classes and getting outside with their dog. Both are looking forward to exploring their new city, and seeing everything Nashville has to offer.
Their oldest (B3) is a sweet boy who is very easy to be around. Growing up in downtown Chicago has made him a lover of trains, and if he could, he would pick out 100 books from the library on the subject, and read them over and over again. He is quite a chatterbox for being 3, and loves being active and getting out of the house to socialize – especially enjoying playdates at the park and going to museums. (B3) will be in school 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) for the spring and summer and likely swinging up to 4 days a week in the fall.
His little sister (G1) is 2 years younger but not smaller in stature. She also loves being active and around other kids, and doesn’t mind big brother around on occasion. (G1) will be in school (2) days per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays
The family’s ideal candidate is kind, patient, dependable and nurturing. Someone who genuinely cares and will be invested in their children. As a parenting style, Mom and Dad want to help guide their children, while not being overbearing, and set expectations and consequences for behavior. They want to find a nanny that will be consistent with their parenting style and provide support in their absence. Understanding that some days will consist of care for both children, a nanny with experience caring for more than one child at a time are preferred. And because driving will be an almost daily responsibility, candidates who are confident transporting children is a must.
Overview of a typical day:
8:30 - Nanny arrives and help kids finish breakfast.
Nanny will take (G1) and (B3) to school 2 days per week to start.
After drop off, nanny will return to family home and help with what is needed that day. This could include: cleaning up after kid’s meals and activities, small errands and helping with the children’s laundry.
11:30 Nanny picks up (G1) from school and returns home to put her down for a nap.
2pm – Nanny returns to school to pick up (B3) and cares for both children until Mom is done with work.
4:30 – End of Day
3 days a week, Nanny will care for both (G1) and (B3). Nanny will need to plan and supervise activities, outside playtime, and outings.
(B3) takes a rest break after lunch. During rest break the family would like a nanny to help with what is needed that day. This could include: cleaning up after kid’s meals and activities, and helping with the children’s laundry.
4:30 pm - End of Day
*Family strongly prefers, but does not 100% require candidates to have received the Covid vaccine, TDAP or Flu Shot. The couple has plans for a possible 3rd child, and if they do decide do decide to expand their family, vaccination requirements may need to be revisited.
