Overview: Full Time Nanny/House Manager needed for family of 4 in Nashville
As returning clients to Nannies of Green Hills, we are so very happy to help this family find their next Mary Poppins!
For their careers, Mom works full time as a Physician Executive with TN Oncology, maintaining clinic hours 3 days per week and administrative hours on Wednesdays and Fridays. Although her main office is at St. Thomas Midtown, she does work from home, but only occasionally. Dad is a Physicist who primarily works from home full time in a designated work space, but does travel for work 2 – 4 days per month on average. When not working, Mom enjoys needlepoint and Pilates, and Dad enjoys cooking and tennis.
The family is blessed to have grandparents very nearby (they live in a Guest House on the property) and enjoy seeing them regularly.
Their oldest, (G9) is very active with the Nashville Ballet and just finished her second year performing in the Nutcracker at TPAC.
Their youngest (B5) is all boy. He loves soccer, monster trucks, dinosaurs and Spiderman. Mom and Dad admit both kids should probably have less screen time, but they really love their new Nintendo Switch games. Mario Kart is taken very seriously in this household!
Both children go to Oak Hill School which is approximately one mile from the family home and very convenient!
Also in the home are the family’s 3 dogs and 1 cat. They keep to themselves mostly as the cat sleeps most of the day, and the dogs have kennels in the laundry room and a fenced in backyard.
This loving and affectionate family believes strongly in supporting their children’s talents and school work, but also make sure not to put too much pressure on performance. They are big believers in “letting their kids be little,” and not pushing them to grow up too soon. They also appreciate and encourage hugs and acts of kindness.
With both children now in school full time, they are looking for a Caregiver/Assistant to assist in managing the household during the weekday and then help with the kids after school. During the summer, sick days or holidays, the role will shift and be primarily child facing.
The family’s ideal candidate is kind, reliable, creative, fun, and responsible. Someone who is structured, organized and sets expectations for the children and understands that they can, at times, have big little feelings.
Both G9 and B5 have been very close to their previous nannies (the family has had 3 - one for 4 years, one for 3 years and one for 2.5 years.) and Mom and Dad are very appreciative of their nanny’s ability to form loving relationships with their children, and hope to have this relationship with their next nanny as well.
The kids love planned outings so a caregiver who is proactive in searching out new fun things to do would be a great fit. And understanding that driving is an important part of the job description, candidates who have experience transporting children and who have a clean driving record are a must.
If you are a nanny who wants to feel like a valued part of a family, this is the job for you!
This is a hybrid Nanny / House Manager position, so a caregiver who has experience and is comfortable with both roles is ideal, as each day will look a little different than the next.
Daily responsibilities can include:
School Pick Up
Keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy
General pick up at the end of the day
Children's Laundry
Assistance with Homework/Projects
Grocery Shopping/Other Errands
