Overview: This warm and welcoming family is seeking a kind, steady, and proactive Household Manager / Nanny to support their home and three school‑aged children.
About: With older children who are increasingly independent, this role focuses on keeping the household running smoothly through thoughtful organization, errands, and after‑school support. They value someone who brings calm energy, communicates with ease, and enjoys being a consistent, caring presence in their children’s lives.
Their oldest, (G16) is a Junior in high school. Mom and Dad say she is independent, confident, and busy with her own activities. She drives herself and requires little to no oversight. She loves dance, guitar, voice, and tennis.
Next in line is (B13), who is in the 7th grade. He is active, social, and involved in tennis and baseball. He will need transportation to activities and occasional reminders to prioritize schoolwork over casual time.
Their youngest, (G7), is in 2nd grade, and is sweet, imaginative, and the primary child needing care. She enjoys tennis, soccer, basketball, softball, and art and creative activities.
Both (B13) and (G7) thrive with gentle guidance and a warm, encouraging presence.
Also in the home is one small dog.
Mom and Dad consider their home to be a safe, loving environment where their children are encouraged to make decisions, learn from natural consequences, and grow in responsibility as they mature. Open communication is welcomed — even when there are disagreements — and always grounded in respect and emotional control. When challenges arise, the children are guided to repair and restore with kindness and accountability. Their home is supportive, structured, and centered on helping each child develop confidence, resilience, and strong character.
The family has had a great relationship with their current Nanny, but it is now time for her to leave to start her own family, so they are now looking for another wonderful candidate to take her place.
The family's ideal candidate is:
This family is seeking a nanny who is loving, reliable, and proactive — someone who brings calm energy to the home and communicates with ease. Because driving is a regular part of the nanny’s day, they are looking for a caregiver who is experienced and comfortable driving minors, with a clean driving record and confidence navigating school pickups and after‑school activities. Their ideal match is someone who can balance household tasks with thoughtful childcare, and who enjoys being a consistent, caring presence in the children’s lives.
Overview of nanny's potential work day:

The day begins in the Family Assistant Role with a focus on household support, including laundry, errands, and general organization. The nanny also preps Blue Apron meals twice weekly and helps maintain a smooth rhythm in the home.
Family Assistant Role may include:
Children’s laundry and linens
Grocery shopping and errands
Tidying kitchen, common areas, and play spaces
Light meal prep (Blue Apron, twice weekly)
Household organization (closets, supplies, toys)
Maintaining lists of household items needed
Occasional vendor coordination or communication with service providers
Afternoon Transition (~2:30 PM): The nanny shifts into childcare mode, picking up the 13‑ and 7‑year‑olds from school and guiding them through their after‑school routine. This includes transportation to activities, snack time, homework reminders, and preparing backpacks for the next day.
End of Day: ~6:00 PM Later evenings may be requested occasionally to support longer workdays or date nights. On those days, the nanny will begin later to accommodate the shift.
Flexible: Someone who is comfortable working in a home where one or more parent works from home.
An Experienced Driver: Someone comfortable and confident driving minors, including school pickups, outings, and activities.
Infant and toddler experience is essential, and familiarity with preschool‑ or elementary‑aged children is highly valued. While not required, experience with Montessori philosophies is a plus, as all three children have attended or will attend Montessori preschool. The family hopes their nanny will also seek out opportunities for socialization and enrichment outside the home.
Family does not require candidates to have received the Covid Vaccine. They DO REQUIRE candidates to have a current Tdap (within 10 years) and Flu Shot.
Overview of nanny’s typical work day:
8:30 AM – Nanny arrives
Care will primarily be for (B2mos). This includes working on naps, tummy time, eating, and other milestones, as well as keeping baby busy with outdoor walks, trips to the zoo, Cheekwood or library, reading books, and playing together.
During nap times, the family would like the nanny to pivot to light household support. This includes picking up after the day, cleaning bottles, snack items, and meal prep materials, loading the dishwasher with any dishes used during the day, and occasional help with children’s laundry.
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, the nanny will also pick up (G4) from preschool in Oak Hill around 3 PM and help with snack and playtime until Mom is done with work.
During school breaks, the nanny will be responsible for all three children. This may include pick up and/or drop off from camps and activities.
