Overview: Flexible and Loving Nanny needed for Infant in Nashville.
About: Originally from Dallas, Mom moved to Nashville in 2021 to complete her Residency at Vanderbilt, and now works as an Emergency Physician at a local medical center. Dad grew up in Minnesota, and after completing a Pediatric Radiology fellowship in Chicago, he relocated to Nashville in 2021 with his two boys, and now works remotely for a Radiology Group based in Minneapolis.
Despite working in the same department at Vanderbilt, Mom and Dad’s story began online. Their first date was in September 2022 at Barcelona Wine Bar here in town, and in August 2024 they tied the knot, and have been happily married ever since.
Mom and Dad welcomed their first child together, (GNB) in December 2025, turning their party of four into a party of five! They say (GNB) has already become a very bright spot in the family home. She adores her big brothers and lights up whenever they are near. Mom describes (GNB) as a sweet, easy presence who loves walks in her stroller, her playmat, and snuggles. She’s beginning to smile and is getting bigger every day! (GNB) will be home full time.
Mom’s bonus boys, (B9) and (B7), live with the family half the time and bring their own sweet, vibrant energy to the home. They are in first and third grade at Sylvan Park Elementary School, and are the best of friends!
Both boys stay busy with activities they love. They’re part of a flag football league and also take music lessons — with one playing electric guitar, and the other learning piano. When they’re home, you will likely find them burning off energy playing outside with the neighbors, building with Legos, or coming up with creative games to play around the house!
Also in the home are the family’s 2 dogs – a Dalmatian and a Golden Retriever – who when not napping in the mudroom – enjoy spending their days outside.
This family moves through life with a laid‑back, go‑with‑the‑flow spirit and a genuine desire to find the fun in everyday moments. They encourage their children to try new things, give their best effort, and stay resilient when challenges come up. A growth mindset is something they model intentionally — viewing setbacks as opportunities to learn from and to a reason to try again.
Kindness, inclusivity, independence, and responsibility are core values in their parenting. They celebrate effort over outcome, and aim to create an environment where each child feels supported, capable, and encouraged to explore who they are.
In their free time Mom and Dad love to stay active and travel! Over the last year they have traveled to Europe, backpacked through Texas, and taught the boys to ski in Colorado! They also love the outdoors - whether that’s hiking at Percy Warner, jogging through the neighborhood, or playing front‑yard football with the boys.
With Mom’s maternity leave ending next month, they are now looking for a nanny to cover her schedule as she returns to work part time.
If you are a nanny who wants to grow with a family, and is excited about a position that extends for many years to come, this is the position for you!.
The family’s Ideal Candidate is:
Reliable and Responsible: Someone who can be counted on, shows up consistently, and helps keep the family’s many moving pieces running smoothly.
Experienced: A steady, capable caregiver who is confident and familiar with infant care and a baby’s daily routines.
Engaged: Someone who is present and attentive throughout the day, and is tuned in to their daughter’s cues, needs, and natural rhythm.
Fun & Playful: Someone who is warm, lighthearted, and not afraid to be silly with the children.
Flexible: Someone who is comfortable with a schedule that shifts based on the parents’ work rotations. The family guarantees three nine‑hour shifts each week, with specific days determined in advance.
Experienced Driver: Because driving can be part of a nanny’s job description, a caregiver who is comfortable and confident driving minors is a must.
Overview of Job Description:
Due to Mom’s irregular schedule, a nanny will not have a set schedule from week to week, but a nanny can anticipate and average of 3 shifts a week, over a 7 day period.
7 AM – NANNY ARRIVES
Nanny’s primary responsibilities will be taking care of (GNB), which includes feeding, diapering, playtime, getting her out for walks and putting her down for naps. During naptime the family would like a nanny to take care of (GNB)s dishes, keep her nursery area clean and stocked, and assist with general pick up at the end of the day.
A nanny may be asked to help with the boy’s school drop off and pick up, on the rare occasion that Dad is unavailable for that.
Given the nature of Mom and Dad’s job, they may both need to work a weekend day, so occasional coverage for all 3 kiddos may be necessary.
