Overview: Creative and Nurturing nanny needed for Family of 4 in Nashville.

Mom and Dad met while both attending the University of Virginia, and eventually settled down in Chicago, where they have lived for the past 8 years. They loved Chicago, but when Dad was offered a new job in Nashville, they decided to pack up the family and move South for a new adventure.

Mom is a Nurse Practitioner who put her career on hold while her kiddos were young, but has now returned to work full time, in a fully remote position. Dad is a Healthcare Investor whose job involves long hours and travel. When not working Dad likes to exercise, and get in a round of golf when he can, and Mom enjoys projects around the house and getting outside with their dog. Both are looking forward to exploring their new city, and seeing everything Nashville has to offer.

Their oldest (B3) is a sweet boy who is very easy to be around. Growing up in downtown Chicago has made him a lover of trains. His current interest is in natural disasters (think volcanos, tornadoes) and if he could, he would pick out 100 books from the library on his current subject of interest, and read them over and over again. He is quite a chatterbox for being 3, and loves being active and getting out of the house to socialize – especially enjoying playdates at the Edwin Warner Nature Center, library story at Bellevue library, and the adventure science center. (B3) will be in school 5 days a week (8:45-2) starting again late August. He will need to be picked up from school. Some Fridays Mom may keep him home some weeks if he seems tired from the school environment.

His little sister (G2) is just about a year younger, but not smaller in stature. She also loves being active and around other kids, including her older brother. They are working on their sibling squabbles but also play well together and enjoy adventures together. She enjoys music, pretend play like taking care of babies and playing kitchen. (G2) will be in school (2) days per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at the same school. Mom is looking to sign her up for a gymnastics or music class on Monday or Wednesdays while (B3) is in school.

The family’s ideal candidate is kind, patient, dependable, creative, and nurturing. Someone who genuinely cares, is invested in their children, and is willing to take initiative to play with the children and plan activities that the children enjoy. As a parenting style, Mom and Dad want to help guide their children, while not being overbearing, and set expectations and consequences for behavior. They want to find a nanny that will be consistent with their parenting style and provide support in their absence. Understanding all days will consist of care for both children for a few hours in the afternoon, a nanny with experience caring for more than one child at a time is preferred. And because driving will be a daily responsibility, candidates who are confident transporting children is a must.

Overview of a typical day:

8:00 - Nanny arrives and help kids finish breakfast.

Nanny will take (B3) to school M/W/F with sister in tow (20 minute drive)

After drop off, nanny and G2 will go to a park, music class, activity or return home to play.

11:45 Nanny makes lunch for G2 and around 12:30-1:00 puts her down for a nap.

1:30pm – Nanny leaves to returns to school to pick up (B3) and arrives back home around 2:30 and cares for both children until Mom is done with work. This can be crafts, outside play in our yard. Nanny will need to plan and supervise activities, outside playtime.

5:00– End of Day

2 days a week, Nanny arrives late as mom will take both kids to school in the AM. Nanny will be asked to do light house work like folding clean clothes, emptying the dishwasher, cleaning up after kid’s activities before picking up the kids from school at the end of the day.

5:00 pm - End of Day

*Family strongly prefers, but does not 100% require candidates to have received the Covid vaccine, TDAP or Flu Shot. The couple has plans for a possible 3rd child, and if they do decide to expand their family, vaccination requirements may need to be revisited.
