Overview: A warm, energetic family seeking a full‑time nanny to support their infant son and help their household run smoothly.
About: Although Mom grew up in Pennsylvania and Dad spent his childhood in Montana before attending school in North Carolina, it was a shared career path that ultimately brought them together. They met at work in Connecticut nearly 15 years ago, built a life there for several years, and eventually made their way to Nashville in 2016. After a brief season living in the Gulch, they settled into the 12 South neighborhood in early 2018 and have happily called it home ever since.
Both Mom and Dad are actuaries by training, each with deep experience in the healthcare space. Mom works for a health services company focused on network strategy, while Dad recently stepped into a new role with a small healthcare company in Brentwood.
When not working, they enjoy exploring Nashville with their children — visiting Cheekwood, the zoo, local parks, breweries, and their favorite restaurants.
Their home is lively, loving, and full of personality thanks to their three children. Their oldest, (B6), is bright, caring, and endlessly curious, with a love for animals, reading, and sports — especially football and soccer. Their daughter, (G4), is independent, spirited, and imaginative, equally drawn to princesses and superheroes, and always eager to keep up with her big brother. The two are best friends who can often be found running laps around the living room, pretending to be animals, jumping on the couch, or practicing monkey bars in the playroom. (B6) and (G4) go to school full time.
The family’s newest addition, (B2mos), arrived in late October. He is a sweet, cuddly infant who loves baths, outdoor walks, and being doted on by his siblings. (B2mos) will be home full time.
Also in the home are two patient cats, Arthur and Sherlock, who tolerate — and sometimes even enjoy — the enthusiastic affection of the kids.
Mom and Dad describe their home as energetic, loving, and full of opportunities for learning. They incorporate education into everyday moments — from math problems during football games to reading product labels at the store. They encourage independence, allowing their children to try things on their own and work through disagreements before stepping in. Their goal is to raise children who set healthy boundaries, respect others, value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and develop perseverance and emotional regulation. They are intentional, thoughtful parents who want their children to grow into kind, capable humans with helping hearts.
The family's ideal candidate is:
Safe: Someone who will prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
Patient: Someone who can remain calm, steady, and nurturing in a busy, high‑energy household.
Emotionally Intelligent: Someone who can model emotional regulation, support healthy communication, and help the children navigate big feelings.
Trustworthy: Someone reliable, dependable, and able to step in seamlessly when Mom and Dad are unavailable.
Loving: Someone who will genuinely care for the children and become an extension of the family.
Flexible: Someone who is comfortable working in a home where one or more parent works from home.
An Experienced Driver: Someone comfortable and confident driving minors, including school pickups, outings, and activities.
Infant and toddler experience is essential, and familiarity with preschool‑ or elementary‑aged children is highly valued. While not required, experience with Montessori philosophies is a plus, as all three children have attended or will attend Montessori preschool. The family hopes their nanny will also seek out opportunities for socialization and enrichment outside the home.
Family does not require candidates to have received the Covid Vaccine. They DO REQUIRE candidates to have a current Tdap (within 10 years) and Flu Shot.
Overview of nanny’s typical work day:
8:30 AM – Nanny arrives
Care will primarily be for (B2mos). This includes working on naps, tummy time, eating, and other milestones, as well as keeping baby busy with outdoor walks, trips to the zoo, Cheekwood or library, reading books, and playing together.
During nap times, the family would like the nanny to pivot to light household support. This includes picking up after the day, cleaning bottles, snack items, and meal prep materials, loading the dishwasher with any dishes used during the day, and occasional help with children’s laundry.
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, the nanny will also pick up (G4) from preschool in Oak Hill around 3 PM and help with snack and playtime until Mom is done with work.
During school breaks, the nanny will be responsible for all three children. This may include pick up and/or drop off from camps and activities.
