Overview: Dependable, flexible and engaged nanny needed for 2 small children in Brentwood.
About: Mom and Dad are both West Coast transplants who met in college nearly 15 years ago. Despite being in their late teens at the time, they both had a love for helping others, and it was this shared kinship that carried them through the challenges of graduate and post graduate studies together. Today, that effort shines through in their chosen career paths, with Mom working as a Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department of a large hospital, and Dad is the owner of local Dental Practice.
When not working, this grounded and approachable couple loves spending time together – whether that is exercising, golfing, going on dates, or enjoying simple family moments with their other two favorite people: their kiddos.
Their oldest, (B3), is a curious, happy and kind-hearted little guy who loves exploring, learning, and being part of whatever the family is doing. (B3) attends a church day school 2 days per week currently, and increase to 3 days per week in the fall.
His little sister, (G1) is newly walking and delighted by every new place she can reach. She is cheerful, active, and eager to explore alongside her big brother. (G1) is currently home full time.
Also in the home, are the couple’s elderly Golden Retriever and young Australian Shepard, who have their own play areas where they spend most of their days.
Mom and Dad describe themselves as a grounded, connected family who genuinely enjoys being together. They prioritize quality time, emotional presence, and creating a home where their children feel deeply valued and loved. Their parenting style blends gentle communication with clear, steady boundaries, where they take time to explain expectations to help their children understand the “why,” in every situation. They strive to maintain structure and consistency, and encourage their children to explore, be kind, and to always help others.
Mom and Dad have employed the same wonderful nanny for the past several years, but sadly, she is moving out of the area, and they are now looking for a new partner to fill the role.
The family's ideal candidate is:
Trustworthy & dependable — someone they can fully rely on to care for their children with consistency, honesty, and good judgement. Both parents have demanding jobs that cannot be missed, and they need a nanny who is very dependable and will always show up for her shifts.
Nurturing & patient — someone who genuinely enjoys young children and can provide a calm, loving, and emotionally supportive environment for their kiddos.
Communicative & flexible — Someone who will work as a team with Mom and Dad and keep them informed of the children’s needs and schedule changes. And because Mom’s work schedule varies they need a nanny that can be flexible with her work schedule, understanding she will have guaranteed days each week.
Engaged & proactive — someone who is attentive, plans age-appropriate activities, encourages learning through play, and stays attentive throughout the day.
Safety-focused — someone who is careful, responsible and aware of the needs of young children, including safe sleep, feeding, outdoor play, and general household safety.
Mom and Dad want a nanny to know that there is a pool on the property, so it is important that their future nanny is an experienced swimmer and understands pool safety as well.
And because Driving will likely be part of a nanny’s daily routine, candidates who are experienced and comfortable driving minors, and who have a clean driving record, are a must.
