Overview: Fun and Active Nashville couple are looking for a nanny for their two kiddos, ages 3 and 1.
Mom and Dad are both former college athletes who attended Vanderbilt University, but didn't start dating until after graduation. Flash forward to today, and they are happily married and have two sweet children, ages 3 and 1.
For their careers, Dad works in Commercial Real Estate, and Mom owns and operates a small business on a part time basis. They both have private home offices in the lower part of the home, but Dad typically works out of the home at his office downtown. When not working, this fun and active couple enjoys traveling, especially to the beach, getting outdoors and exploring local trails, and spending time in the kitchen cooking meals for family and friends.
Their oldest (G3) started walking at 9 months and hasn't stopped moving since. She is incredibly high energy and probably a little too smart for her own good. She listens well, but is an active and confident thrill seeker. She will settle down for the occasional tea party, but mostly she likes to be on the move! (G3) is in a PRE-K program 8:45 am – 11:45 am, Monday through Friday. She will be home in the afternoons.
Her little brother, (B1), is 12 months old, and ‘little’ in name only, at 28 pounds! He is quite mobile for his age (walking, running, and climbing), and adores the outdoors, walks, balls, and anything with wheels. (B1) is in a MDO program 8:45 am – 11:45 am, M/W/F. He will be home full days on T/TH and in the afternoons on M/W/F.
Also in the home are the family's two cats, who are very friendly and act more like dogs once they get to know you.
As former D1 athletes (swimming and baseball) fitness, physical activity, and healthy living are very important to this family. They hope to instill these core values in their children by spending lots of time outdoors, or doing fun activities like going to Open Gym and the Zoo. They avoid screen time as much as possible, and instead spend down time reading and doing other educational activities with their kiddos.
The family’s ideal candidate is responsible and loving, reliable, organized and proactive. Someone who will become a part of their family for years to come! With Mom and Nanny both in the home, one work day may look a little different from the next. It is important to Mom and Dad to find a nanny that can be active and engaging with their daughter and help her burn off her energy while Mom tends to (B1), and who can also pivot and care for (B1) while (G3) naps and Mom gets some work done around the house or in her home office. Understanding this, candidates who have experience and are comfortable with caring for 2 small children are preferred. Of course there may be days when there is a fun outing for both children, and Mom and Nanny can go out together, so a nanny will need to be comfortable in a role working alongside Mom as well.
Because driving is an important part of the job description, the family is requesting candidates who are experienced in transporting children and who have a clean driving record.
If you are a nanny who wants a fun and collaborative work environment, this is the job for you!
Overview of nanny's typical day:
11/11:30 AM - Nanny Arrives
(G2) will need to be fed lunch before she goes down for her nap around 12 noon.
(G3) typically naps 12:00 - 2:30/3:00pm.
During that window, Nanny can help with (B1) and give Mom some time to get organized, run errands, or do some work from her home office.
It would be also helpful to have some assistance with some laundry or other small tasks around the house.
2:30/3:00 pm (G3) wakes up and nanny can help get her a snack and play until the end of the day.
4 or 5 PM - End of Day
Family strongly prefers, but does not 100% require candidates to have an up to date Tdap. Family does not require candidates to have received the Covid Vaccine or have a current Flu Shot.
