Overview: Responsible and Outgoing Nanny needed for Family of Three in Franklin.
About: Although Mom works full-time in a demanding role that occasionally requires travel, her greatest joy — and her top priority — will always be being a mother to her two sweet daughters.
Her oldest, (G16), is a thoughtful, creative teenager who shines when she’s part of something collaborative. She loves theater — especially working behind the scenes — and she finds joy in mythology, reading, video games, Legos, music, and building miniature house kits. She volunteers locally, is learning to drive, and is part of the LGBTQ community. Her cat is her favorite companion, and a constant source of comfort and connection for her.
Her youngest, (G12), is bright, expressive, and full of personality. She is a very girly girl – and loves all things related to hair, makeup, and skincare, listening to music, and chatting with her friends. She’s exploring what her next extracurricular interest might be after stepping away from soccer, but will likely gravitate toward something creative, social, or hands-on. Her dog is her loyal sidekick and brings her a lot of joy.
After the sudden loss of their father 5 years ago, the girls have been surrounded by Mom’s quiet strength and steady purpose to provide a home where they feel safe, supported, and surrounded by love. Mom has enlisted the help of an au pair for the past several years, but with (G16) starting to learn to drive, and Mom’s increased travel with her job, she has decided to shift to a live-in Nanny/Family Assistant to provide additional support for this next season with her daughters.
The Family’s Ideal Candidate Is:
Outgoing: Someone who brings lightness and ease into the home, and who can connect comfortably with both girls, meet them in their interests, and help create an environment that feels warm and approachable.
Proactive: A caregiver who notices what needs attention and steps in without being asked. This includes anticipating the flow of the day, staying ahead of schedules, and helping the household run smoothly in ways that make Mom’s life easier.
Reliable: Consistency is deeply valued in this home. They’re looking for someone who shows up fully, keeps their word, and becomes a steady, dependable part of the girls’ weekly rhythm.
Respectful: (G16) has ADHD and high functioning autism. She takes medications daily and has recurring weekly therapies as a treatment plan. A nanny who communicates with kindness, and treats the girls with patience and understanding will be highly valued.
A Good Communicator: Clear, calm communication is essential. Mom appreciates someone who keeps her informed, asks questions when needed, and works as a true partner in supporting the girls and the household.
Confident: Mom travels for work each month, for up to a week at a time, that can include weekends, therefor she needs someone who feels comfortable holding the rhythm of the home when she is away, and who can guide the girls through their daily routines with steadiness, warmth, and a reassuring presence.
Pet Friendly: Along with her daughters’ cat and dog, Mom has 2 dogs of her own that are also in the home, but tend to stay in their own area downstairs. In addition, they have a Guinea Pig.
And because Driving will be needed, a nanny who is experienced and comfortable driving minors, and who has a clean driving record, is a must.
Family 100% requires candidates to have received the Covid Vaccine and Flu Shot, and strongly prefers candidates who have an up to date TDap as well.
Overview of nanny's typical work day:
When Mom is in town she Works From Home, starting her day at 6AM
ON SCHOOL DAYS:
Nanny’s day starts at 6AM
6AM – 8AM Nanny helps get the girls up and out the door for school. This can include drop off for (G12) primarily.
Nanny can then return home and shift to the Family Assistant Role. Mom anticipates this being about 15 hours per week.
Family Assistant Role Can Consist Of:
Dishes and Daily Pickup around the house (2 hrs/day)
Girl’s Laundry (2 - 3 hours weekly)
Grocery Shopping/Errands (2 – 3 hours weekly)
Vacuuming and Light Dusting - downstairs/pet area 2x/week
*More hours could be offered if a nanny were open to additional light housekeeping
3:30 PM – (G12) is home. Nanny will help get her a snack.
5 pm – (G16) needs to be picked up from school after Theatre Crew is over. Both girls have a TUTOR that comes to the home weekly and a few other evening activities during the week. On weeks where Mom is home, Nanny will work with Mom for pick-ups and drop offs to activities, if needed. On weeks when Mom is traveling, Nanny will be responsible for those.
Mom’s travel can include weekends – which would then require a nanny to manage the girls’ schedules and activities in her absence.
