Overview: Loving and Collaborative Nanny needed for Family of 5 in Franklin.
About: Originally from Georgia and Indiana, Mom and Dad met while in Medical School, and knew very quickly they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. After completing their Residency programs in Texas, they decided to put down roots in Nashville and start a family.
Mom and Dad both work as ER Physicians. Mom is full time, meaning her work hours involve all sorts of hours/shifts, and Dad is part time, while also working more traditional hours from home with his men’s health teleclinic.
When not working, this young and active couple are very hands on parents, and enjoy spending as much time with their little ones as possible – sharing meals, putting on spontaneous dance parties, playing pretend, and getting out of the house for outdoor adventures and exploring.
Together the couple has been blessed with three very healthy and happy children.
Their oldest, (B3) will be 3 this upcoming July and is all things toddler and all things boy. He has a curious little mind, and is quick to try and figure things out for himself. He is extremely chatty and loves to hear stories and play pretend. He loves getting outside for walks and trips to the park, but also enjoys quiet time at home with a good book. (B3) likes to help as much as possible, but sometimes toddlerhood gets the best of him. (B3) will be home full time until this August where he will go to half day preschool every Tuesday and Thursday.
The family’s second child is a 16 months old little girl, (G1), who is about as sweet as they come. She loves to try new foods and chase her brother around. She is very curious about the world around her, and is very quick to try and explore all on her own. She loves reading and animals as well as trying out new words. She will be joining (B3) at the preschool next Fall on Friday mornings.
The newest member of the family is their littlest guy, (BNB). He was born late February, and is a happy and healthy, easy going baby. He has fallen into his role of little brother quite well and has been a seamless and sweet addition to the family. He takes his bottle well and enjoys being held while Mom and Dad vacuum the house. (BNB) will be home full time.
Also in the home are the family’s 2 Golden Retrievers, ages 7 and 11, who have reached the age where they fit the description of ‘couch potato’ quite well. They like to lurk around the dinner table waiting for the food to drop and the kids find it very funny to share food with them. It is a work in progress!
Mom and Dad like to think of their parenting as very involved and hands on when they aren’t at work. They try to lead with love, while maintaining boundaries and rules. They want their children to know they are a part of a family that loves God, knows to respect others, and that their parents are always available with a listening ear.
The family’s ideal candidate is loving and attentive, patient and kind. Someone who genuinely loves their children, and is excited to watch them learn and grow. Having 3 children under 3 makes for a busy and at times challenging household, so candidates with experience caring for multiple small children at the same time are preferred.
Mom and Dad view this as a collaborative role, with their nanny being viewed as a valued family member. Mom and Dad’s goal is to have at least one parent home and partially available with this job than a completely parent free household, but there will still be times where the nanny will be the solo provider.
If you are a nanny who wants a position where you feel like part of the family, this is the job for you!
Overview of a nanny’s typical day:
NANNY ARRIVES: 8am / 9 am
Nanny will join either Mom or Dad and plan out care for the day. The children’s schedule looks like:
The older two children typically wake between 7:00-8:30, have breakfast, play until lunch, and then go down for their nap at 12:30 or 1PM. Afternoons will consist of indoor and outdoor play with the older kiddos.
Baby boy typically wakes up before 8, and care for him will include feedings, diaper changes, engaging during wake windows and putting him down for his nap.
END OF DAY: 2 pm – 4pm
*Family strongly prefers, but does not 100% require candidates to have a current Flu Shot and Tdap. Family does not require Covid Vaccine.
· $30 - $35 per hour for waking hours
$100 for overnights
· Overtime paid for all daytime hours worked over 40 each week

There will be, on rare occasions, a need for a nanny to work overnights, if Mom and Dad have works hours that overlap. On those occasions, a nanny’s work week may also have one of these ‘overlap’ shifts:
OVERLAP SHIFTS can look like:
(3) day shift: Nanny arrives 12 noon on DAY 1 and works overnight; nanny continues to work a full day and 2nd overnight on DAY 2, and works DAY 3 until 2pm
Single Day shift: 5AM – 9pm (If a nanny spends the night the evening before, she can sleep until 7 or 8 am, when (B1) wakes up)
WHEN NANNY STAYS OVERNIGHT - Nanny will have her own bedroom and bathroom and can store items in the home permanently.
