About:
Mom is originally from Chicago and moved to Nashville several years ago. She works in sales and works from home in a designated office space. Dad is a Nashville native and works in finance.
In their free time, Mom and Dad enjoy staying social, spending time with friends, and traveling as a family. They also have a home in Florida that they visit several times throughout the year and are looking for a nanny who is comfortable traveling with the family Monday through Friday for these trips.
Mom and Dad have a 9-month-old daughter who is a happy, easygoing baby with a sweet temperament. She is curious, playful, and becoming more active and engaged with the world around her every day. The family is looking for someone who will genuinely enjoy spending time with her and supporting her development as she continues to grow.
They also share their home with Charlie, their 20-lb Italian Greyhound/Beagle mix. He is protective and loyal but becomes very friendly once he has had a few introductions. Mom and Dad will help make sure their nanny and Charlie have a comfortable transition and get off to a great start.
Mom and Dad describe themselves as responsive, hands-on parents who value a calm and predictable rhythm at home. Since Mom works from home, she will be nearby throughout much of the day but has a designated workspace and is looking for a nanny who is comfortable independently managing their daughter’s routine and day-to-day needs.
As their daughter grows, they want to encourage her independence, curiosity, and development through age-appropriate activities, outings, play, reading, and plenty of interaction. They are looking for someone who will feel like an extension of their family — a warm, reliable, proactive nanny who genuinely loves caring for children and is excited about building a long-term relationship with their daughter.
The Family’s Ideal Candidate Is:
Good Communicator: Someone who communicates clearly, proactively, and openly with Mom and Dad and is comfortable working in a home where a parent works remotely.
Attentive: Engaged, observant, and present throughout the day, with a genuine interest in interacting with their daughter rather than simply supervising her.
Patient: A calm, steady presence who is comfortable navigating the different stages, routines, and changes that come with a growing baby.
Proactive: Someone who sees what needs to be done and takes initiative, whether that’s preparing for the next meal, restocking the diaper station, starting a load of laundry, or tidying up after the day’s activities.
Supportive: A trusted and positive presence in the home who is happy to pitch in and help make the family’s day-to-day life run more smoothly.
Fun: Warm, playful, and energetic, with an interest in planning age-appropriate activities that encourage development, exploration, and curiosity.
Flexible & Travel-Friendly: The ideal candidate is comfortable occasionally helping on weekends when available and traveling with the family to their Florida home a few times throughout the year. Travel would typically take place Monday through Friday.
Because driving may be part of the nanny’s routine as their daughter gets older, candidates should be experienced and comfortable driving children and have a clean driving record.
The family does not require candidates to have received the COVID vaccine. They prefer candidates who have a current Tdap and flu shot.
Overview of Nanny’s Typical Work Day
Nanny arrives: 7:00 AM
A typical day will follow their daughter’s current feeding, nap, and activity schedule. The nanny will take the lead on her care throughout the workday, including meals and bottles, diaper changes, naps, playtime, and age-appropriate activities.
During awake windows, the family would love for their nanny to be actively engaged with her through reading, singing, developmental play, stroller walks, outdoor time, and outings as appropriate. As she grows, they would love a nanny who continues introducing new activities and experiences that support her development and growing independence.
In addition to childcare, the family is looking for someone who is comfortable helping with light household tasks throughout the day. Responsibilities may include:
The family’s laundry and daughter’s laundry
Emptying and loading the dishwasher as needed
Wiping down kitchen counters and keeping common areas tidy
Light meal prep for daughter
Cleaning and organizing bottles, feeding items, and baby-related spaces
Keeping the diaper-changing station organized and stocked
Tidying and organizing daughter’s toys, clothing, and belongings
Helping pack and unpack daughter’s belongings before and after family trips
Letting Charlie outside as needed throughout the day
The family’s priority will always be their daughter’s care, but they greatly value someone who is proactive and willing to help with these household tasks during naps and other natural downtime.
At the end of the day, a quick recap of meals, naps, activities, mood, and anything notable from the day will help Mom and Dad transition into the evening.
